Registration for the 5K is only $22.50 if you get in before April 1st, but there's an added benefit to register now! Make sure you register this month to guarantee your technical t-shirt in your size! If you plan to register your kids for the Eaglet 1 Mile Fun Run, the cost is only $15.00 until April 1st and registering in March guarantees a cotton t-shirt in their size. The supplier is working on the design now. As soon as its finished, we'll post pictures here.
Remember, all proceeds from this race benefit the Vilonia Cross Country program. Our athletes, from 7th to 12th grade, train all summer to be in shape for fall meets beginning in August. Once school starts, they show up at 5:00 AM to train. Day in and day out, these great kids are on the road, pounding the pavement, putting in the miles, before the sun makes its daily appearance.
Their sport doesn't generate revenue from ticket sales or concessions, so fundraisers are the only source of funds available for anything beyond the most basic of team expenses. Meals on the road, team sweatsuits, safety equipment for running in the dark, and a host of other common costs are covered by money raised from this event.
Your participation in this race goes to support a great bunch of hardworking young runners, the very future of our sport.
